21 August 2008: Home Sweet Home is a spectator led generative art installation, in which each participant has the opportunity to build themselves a house and become part of a small, but perfectly formed cardboard community.
On arrival, residents are given a flat packed property and plot with which they are free to do as they please. The development boasts a number of services to help you settle in - a notice board, a postal service and even a local fm radio station. Meet your neighbours, explore the city and get to know the world around you.
In its latest incarnation Home Sweet Home will be presented by Haworth as part of Designers Saturday. As part of this development we will be running a competition between 20 of our renowned design companies to re-design an iconic building in London. We will be asking them to take on the landmark they have been allocated and produce a model illustrating their re-design. These models will form an integral part of the Home Sweet Home landscape, as together we remodel London in miniature!
