16 September: At Herman Miller's National Design Centre, London, visitors to Designers Saturday are invited to look back at a rich heritage of award-winning design, to understand the roots and history of the leading furniture design company, whilst at the same time looking towards the future of work and working trends.
Reflecting the look and feel of Formula 1 racing the showroom aims to serve one purpose - to simply have fun with friends and family. The race day includes:

Simply lock, clip or snap into place components without the use of hand tools and your results will be posted on our Top Gear style Build Board. The winner takes home a beautiful, iconic, polished auluminium Aeron chair, which will turn any home office into a palace!
2. Pit-Stop/Race:
Refuel and ignite! The Pit Stop will serve light refreshments throughout the day so that you've still got energy to take your chances on our full-scale Scalextric track, regardless of age!
3. High Performance:
Never fully understood the science of seating? Or simply want to take a well earned rest? Learn through one-on-one interactive ergonomic seating presentations, which will demonstrate how Herman Miller's seating range customises to suit each individuals physique.
4. Cool to the Touch:
Learn more about the incorporation of technology and innovation into products, such as Herman Miller's award-winning Leaf light which now sits in the MOMA, New York. Described as 'fusion of technology with humanity' this is Yves Behar's first creation for Herman Miller.
5. Future of Work:
Herman Miller's Mark Catchlove will present 'The Future of Work' at 12:30pm on both the Friday and Saturday, as well as at other times on an ad hoc basis. The seminar will look at three possible future global warming scenarios and assess what the working environment could be like for each outcome. The seminar is both challenging and thought provoking and will provide an opportunity for workplace professionals to exchange views and best-practice ideas.
