WorldWideWorking

WorldWideWorkingOur world is constantly changing. Through our global economy, it is all about what you can supply, provide and deliver, at all times and in all places. As a result we can determine where, when, how and with whom we want to work. Information technology makes it possible to exchange ideas, to co-operate, and to increase knowledge irrespective of time and place. Ahrend recognises and encourages this development. As part of an international network it supplies products and services that makes work ever more productive and pleasant, as well as contributing to the sharing of knowledge and information. Through this, we are contributing to sustainable working environments, both now and in the future. Come to our new show room and find out more.

Home Sweet Home

HaworthIn keeping with the family feel of the Designers Saturday event, Haworth will present ‘Home Sweet Home’ at their Brewhouse Yard showroom.

Home Sweet Home is a spectator led ‘generative art installation’ and is designed to include as many different members of the public as possible. One of the many exciting aspects of Home Sweet Home is that it creates a unique experience in each new environment it is performed in. On the “stage” we develop and create an infrastructure for a physical cardboard model urban space. This infrastructure includes a blank canvas for the village to be built up on, a set of flat pack homes, street lighting, surround sound, community buildings, etc. The project generates excitement for creatives, urban designers, architects, sociologists, psychotherapists … and most importantly, the general public who are enabled with a ‘playful’ means of expression about how they would like to live, or even a commentary on how they live now…. allowing architects and children alike to express their imaginations.

Place 2.5

SedusSedus' Place 2.5 concept helps us understand the new emotional office culture where the workplace can influence the business results and personnel issues that come together in modern office design. Encouraging a sense of purpose, fun, success and satisfaction are all increasingly important and design can play an important part in this. We will explore how acoustics has such an important role to play in the modern office environment, where real estate costs, new working practices, modern I.T and furniture solutions have affected noise in the office. And we’ll create some fun too!

We will be showcasing our latest technologies designed to cater for over 70 million young people who have been brought up with the internet, email, and instant messaging. This will include the highly publicised ‘Walkstation; ‘Thunder Pro’, a unique digital flipchart and online conferencing facility allowing you to input information from just about any source and ‘B Free Lounge’, a seating range to inspire work in the more forgotten areas of the office. Copies of our extensive research will also be available to take away.
